Course Overview:

Companies are changing product life-cycle and making adjustments to their supply chain because of a changing market, environmental issues, and government regulations. The Sustainable Management course explores realistically, and in detail, the world's enormous potential for human and ecological regeneration. It also explains why this potential has been suppressed or distorted by industrial institutions, thus creating economic crisis, growing inequality, and environmental destruction.

This course defines the subject matter of sustainable and green marketing, and illustrates how green marketing can be incorporated into strategic planning. It addresses the interplay between environment and consumption, and an organizations effort to offer superior value to consumers via sustainable oriented marketing practices. 

As a Sustainable Supply Chain Manager you will need to develop action plans, and implement green supply chains. This course provides a firm foundation for supply change management and tips to help you implement green initiatives. In this course you will learn to make concrete supply chain decisions and identify lean and green savings for supply chains.

About ProTrain:

ProTrain is committed to offering world class interactive online courses that provide training and learning support for the student in a number of ways during their experience. The ProTrain course structure has been developed to provide activities to guide students throughout the entire process of learning. Learning activities include hands-on assignments that allow students to use what they are learning to allow better transferable skills within their work environments; and collaborative assignments, like wikis and discussion groups that allow them to share what they have learned with others in the same course.

While a student learns, they are not alone. Each student will receive guidance and support from his or her assigned Training Assessment Manager (TAM) and Student Services Specialist (SSS) representative. In addition, we will offer live monthly webinars and feedback sessions for various subject categories. Throughout the entire course, students are monitored by the SSS representative using progress reporting from the ProTrain Registration System (PRS).

ProTrain will provide Students who successfully complete their online certification programs and pass their industry level certification exams the access to the new ProTrain Education-2-Employment Career Tracker system. The Career Tracker will allow our students who pass exams to load their own resumes at no additional cost, and letting industry employers find their talent through the same database.

Sigrid Ferguson Green, MSEd in Instructional Design for Online Learning, MS Human Resource Management, with over 15 years of experience in training and development/education. Her experience has been to lead teams of Instructional Designers, and managed curricula for companies such as: American Express and Assurant. Her experience includes but is not limited to the following: technical writing, web design, training, instructional design, graphic design, and curriculum development.

These are possibilities for qualitative development, potentials that have been building throughout the twentieth century but that have been diverted, distorted, or suppressed by waste and financialization.

Lesson 3: The New Ecology of Politics

In this lesson you will learn politics is not simply about the balance of social power between groups, but about how we move collectively into the future-the rules, goals, and activities that set the tone for our entire society.

Lesson 4: The Ecological Space of Flows: The Built-Environment

Lesson 5: Transformative Energy: The Soft-Energy Path

Lesson 6: Living in De-Material World

In this lesson you will learn in a green economy, manufacturing, resource extraction, and waste management must be considered together. In nature, there is virtually no waste; every output is an input for some other process. Waste equals food. This is completely different than the industrial economy, which is marked by linear resource flows, from extraction to disposal. Our current economic cycles, limited largely to dollars, do not correspond to nature's biocycles and materials cycles. For this reason, goods production would look quite different in a green economy.

In this lesson you will learn the supply chain management is a vital, yet often underappreciated facilitator of trade that fosters customer convenience, business success, and societal development. Consumers benefit greatly from supply chain management, yet few people think about the planning, cost, or activities involved in getting fuel to the filling station, fresh foods to the store shelf, or essential medical supplies to the hospital emergency room.

Lesson 2: Supply Chain Structure, Processes, and Trade-Offs

In this lesson you will learn valuable insights on important supply chain elements. It addresses supply chain flows because these requirements drive development of the structure, processes, and trade-offs. An important overview of supply chain structures is provided.

Lesson 10: The Visual and Visible Supply Chain

In this lesson you will learn the difference between the visual and visible supply chain. The visible and the visual supply chain is often overlooked or not understood.

Lesson 11: Internal Supply Chain

In this lesson you will learn about waste reduction and how to electronically capture the paper-flow process.
